This change order provides for the removal of delaminated concrete overlay on the bridge deck
of the southbound Sullivan Road bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad.
The CO grants an additional day for the work and pays for an additional day of temporary traffic
control.
The total estimated cost (incl. tax) for this Change Order work is $3,897.57 paid for by the City
of Spokane Valley. There are sufficient funds in the project budget to cover these costs.

6- 09.3(5) Scarifying Concrete Surface
Section 6- 09.3(5) is supplemented with the following:
The Engineer has marked the removal limits on the existing Sullivan Rd southbound
bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad. Prior to beginning the overlay removal work,
the Contractor shall place a 3/4 -inch deep sawcut along the removal limits in the
existing concrete overlay as shown in the Change Order Exhibit.
The nominal thickness of the existing concrete overlay is 1 -1/2 inches. The Contractor
shall remove the delaminated areas by starting at the existing potholes, lifting the
overlay up and breaking off disposable pieces while working towards the sawcut
edges. The removal process shall be with hand tools assisted by a skid steer, or
backhoe. The Contractor shall not remove sound competent concrete below the
delaminated surface.
Following the removal of the delaminated surface, the Contractor shall removal all
loose material by hand and hand vacuum up all debris, grit and dust from the surface.
6 -09.4 Measurement
Section 6 -09.4 is supplemented with the following:
"Remove Delaminated Overlay ", shall be measured per horizontal square yard.
6 -09.6 Payment
Section 6 -09.5 is supplemented with the following:
Remove Delaminated Overlay ", per square yard.
The unit contract price per square yard for "Remove Delaminated Overlay" shall be full pay
for performing the work specified, including containment, collection, and disposal of all
debris associated with the removal and disposal of the existing delaminated concrete
overlay and bridge deck repair material as shown in the Plans.
