The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 13-010 passed by the Spokane Valley City
Council on the 13th day of August, 2013:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY,
WASHINGTON AMENDING SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 22.110, SIGN
REGULATIONS INCLUDING CHANGES TO THE NUMBER AND TYPE OF TEMPORARY
SIGNS ALLOWED, AND PERMIT SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS; AND OTHER MATTERS
RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 explains that the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Spokane Valley Municipal Code
(SVMC) 22.110, including minor updates to sign regulations relating to the number and type of
temporary signs and permit submittal requirements. Section 2 adopts specific Findings and Conclusions
of the Planning Commission. Section 3 amends 22.110.020(D) to include reader boards as an exception
to prohibited signs; amends 22.110.030 concerning when permits are not required, as well as explains
what shall be included on permit applications concerning site plan information; and some of the sections
of SVMC 22.110.050 Temporary Signs were amended, including the expansion of the number of
temporary signs allowed at any one time.
