The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 18-028 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 18th day of December, 2018:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SVMC 3.40.010 RELATING TO FAILING TO RECEIVE A RESPONSIVE BID FOR A
PUBLIC WORK PROJECT IN EXCESS OF $300,000; AMENDING SVMC 3.41.040 RELATING TO
FAILING TO RECEIVE A RESPONSIVE BID FOR A PUBLIC WORK PROJECT BELOW $300,000;
AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 explains that the intent of this ordinance is to amend SVMC 3.40.010 and 3.41.040 relating to
negotiating a contract in circumstances where the City fails to receive a responsive bid for a public work
project; Section 2 amends competitive bidding of a public work in excess of$300,000; Section 3 amends
use of small works rosters; Section 4 speaks to severability, and Section 5 provides for an effective date.
