The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No.21-004 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 13th day of April,2021:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING CHAPTER 7.50 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING
REGULATION OF CAMPING ON PUBLIC PROPERTY, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING
THERETO.
Section 1 states that the recitals set forth in the text of the ordinance are adopted as Findings for this
ordinance and incorporated herein. Section 2 makes certain amendments to SVMC 7.50 to expand the
purpose of the ordinance, to add applicable definitions, to further describe unlawful camping and storage
of personal property in public places, as well as the removal of unauthorized encampments and individual
camps; and to explain under which conditions enforcement shall be suspended. Section 3 states that all
other provisions of Title 7 SVMC not specifically referenced shall remain in full force and effect. Section
4 speaks to severability,and Section 5 provides for an effective date.
