The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No.21-005 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 25th day of May, 2021:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING TITLE 24 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO BUILDING
AND LAND DISTURBING REGULATIONS,AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 states that the purpose of this ordinance is to amend Title 24 SVMC to align the language of that
title with the adoption of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International
Energy Conservation Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fire Code, Uniform Plumbing
Code by Washington State and to implement clarifying language related to permit expiration and land
disturbance activities.Section 2 states that the City Council read and considered the Planning Commission's
findings, and makes their own specific findings and conclusions as noted in section 2 of this ordinance.
Section 3 makes certain stated amendments to SVMC 24.40. Section 4 addresses severability, and Section
5 provides for an effective date.The full text of Ordinance 21-005 is available at the City of Spokane Valley
