The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 15 passed by the City of Spokane
Valley City Council on the 17 day of January, 2003.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY,
WASHINGTON,IMPOSING A SALES AND USE TAX AS AUTHORIZED BY RCW
82.14.030(1)
Section 1 imposes a 425/1000 of one percent sales and use tax as authorized by RCW
82.14.030(1).
Section 2 establishes administration and collection of the tax.
Section 3 consents to the inspection of records by the Department of Revenue and authorizes the
City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Department of Revenue for the administration
of the sales and use tax.
Section 4 establishes a penalty for a violation of the Ordinance.
Section 5 provides for a severability clause in the event that some portion of the Ordinance is
held invalid.
Section 6 states that the Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on the official date of
incorporation.
