The follvwing is the title and summary of Urdinance No. 4(} passed by the City of Spokane
Valley City Cvuncil on the 25t' day of February, 2003.

AD(]PTING THE UNIF'URM BUILDING CUDE AS THE BUILDIlWG ANI]
CaNSTRUCTIUN STANDARDS FUR THE CITY.
The intraductory paragraphs state the City desires to adapt the Uniform Building Code.
Sectian 1 adopts the Uniform Building Code (LJBC),
Sectian 2 madifies Section 109.1 of the UBC.
Section 3 modifies SectzQn 110 of the LTBC.
Section 4 modif es Section 310.2.2. of the UBC.
Section 5 modifies Section 904.22 of the UBC.
Section d modifies Section 3312,1 of the UBC.
Sec#ian 7 mvdifies the Appendix, Section 42 1.1 of the LJBC.
5ection $ madif es the Appendix Chapter 34 of the CJBC.
Section 4 provides for capies of the [7BC to be mainfained by the City Clerk.
Section 10 places responsibility with the permit applicant.
Sectivn 11 establishes a severability clause in the event some portion of the Ordinance is held
inva.lid.
Sec#ion 12 states this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after pubiication of
the Ordinance Summary, and vn the date of incorporatian.
