The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 08-020 passed by the Spokane Valley City
Council on the 2314 day of September,2008:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON, LEVYING THE
REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON IN
SPOKANE COUNTY FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2009 TO PROVIDE
REVENUE FOR CITY SERVICES AS SET FORTH IN THE CITY BUDGET.
The purpose of this ordinance is to establish, levy and impose upon real property, personal property and
utility property in Spokane Valley, a property tax for 2009 in the amount of$10,500,000; and that the
purpose of receiving revenue is to make payment upon the general indebtedness of the City of Spokane
Valley, the general fund obligations, and for payment of services, projects and activities during 2009.
The ordinance states that the expected dollar amount is 6.39% greater than the 2007 levy which was
collected in 2008.
