AGENDA ITEM TITLE : Request to Use City of Spokane Valley Logo
BACKGROUND:
At the 12-20-05 council meeting, Council promised $30,000 over a 3-year period as a show of support, to
the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships Aid Contributors.
Barb Beddor, Executive Director of the 2007 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships, recently
notified the City that the 2009 Site Selection Team from the U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be
in Spokane next Monday, April 3rd. A printed piece will be created in connection with that marketing
event, and Ms. Beddor is requesting the use of the logo from each of the Bid Contributors, including the
use of the logo of the City of Spokane Valley.
RECOMMENDED ACTION OR MOTION: Move to approve the use of the City of Spokane Valley
Logo for official marketing and promotional purposes associated with the 2009 World Figure Skating
Championships.
BUDGETIFINANCIAL IMPACTS: None for this request, although Council committed $30,000
over a three-year period as a show of support to the 2009 bid.
